Aeris Naomi

Early Monday morning at 00.53 on the 23. January 2012 our beautiful daughter, Aeris Naomi, was born in a rush :)

She arrived weighing in at 6lbs 3oz and she is 17.5" long/2806 grams and 44cm long.

She is absolutely beautiful and we fell instantly in love with her. Here are some pictures you can enjoy :)

Babyshower January 14th

Yesterday I was lucky to have two good friends throw me a babyshower :)
The day started early for me and Michael, we went to the airport to pick up his mother who's coming into town for the occasion.
After that, I needed a nap already. Something about being 36 weeks pregnant or something :P

1pm came around and my friends showed up to decorate my place. They brought balloons, confetti, a really awesome cake and snacks. They also made really yummy punch :)
Oh, and I almost forgot, they "decorated" me too with a pink hat that said "Mom-to-be"and a sash that said "New-Mom-To-Be", you know, just so no one would question who I was :P Hehehe.

After friends started showing up we had a few games:

- Guess what pregnancy symptoms means you're having a boy or a girl. Questions like: If mom is craving sweets, is she expecting a boy or a girl?, If mom grows hairs on her legs faster, is she expecting a boy or a girl? Etc, etc..

- Then we got a sheet with the word "baby" written in 10 different languages, and we had to match it with the right country. I actually won that game, with 6/10 right answers :)

- Baby Bingo, pictures of baby items, who gets bingo first?

- Clean/Dirty Diaper. Everyone got a "diaper" with a sticker inside, whomever got the sticker that said "Dirty Diaper" on it won.

- Toilet Paper Guessing Game. Everyone pulls out a certain amount of sheets to guess how many fits around Mom's belly. That was a fun one! The correct answer was 11 sheets. Everyone guessed too much :) So, I'm not as "fat" as everyone think I am :P Hehehe...


After the games, some talking and yummy cake it was time to open presents :)
We got so many nice gifts!! Thank you everyone!! :D

We got lots of cute little tiny baby clothes, toys, bottles, a bottle warmer, a blanket, eating/drinking utensils for when she's older, bibs, and lots of more cute clothes!! Oh, and we got a really nice Jumper from Michael's parents :)

So, as you can see by my happy, smily face, I had a really good time!! :)

Big baby :)

Today I am 35 weeks and 5 days pregnant with a perfect baby girl :) The doctor checked her out today and she is growing big and strong :) She measures just perfect for her "age". And she weighs about 5.7 lbs/2600grams.

We are both doing good. I have started having some swelling in my hands and feet. So I am getting more and more ready to get my body back to normal, or more close to normal at least :)

We're having a babyshower this coming weekend, so there will probably be lots of more baby stuff pictures coming the next few days :)
It is soooo exciting :) I can't wait to have everything ready and for our baby to arrive :)

Now I really feel like that belly is getting BIG!! :)

New baby equipment

On our anniversary actually, we got an exciting delivery!

It was the new stroller for the baby!! :)


I had to put it together in every way possible of course! Had to test it out. I am super happy with it!
Thanks to my mom and my grandmothers who gifted it to us! :)

It is a Hauck Malibu stroller. Here are the pictures :) Never mind the mess in the background, I took the pictures before cleaning up after opening and putting it together :)

Here it is set up with the bassinet part. It is great for the first 6-ish months. I plan on using it for walks every day. Get her some fresh air. And she can lay flat, and sleep well in there :)

Here is the bassinet set up on the stand that comes with it. We plan on using this set up as her bassinet for the first few weeks. That way we can keep her close by us, and we don't have to fit a big crib in our bedroom.

The stroller frame also comes with a car seat adaptor. And our car seat fits! Very convenient for shorter trips :)

Last but not least, it comes with a toddler seat. This will be great for our little girl when she gets to be old enough to want to look at everything around her. And that sun screen is HUGE!!

The stroller seem to be great! All the parts are easily transferable between the different parts. The front wheels can be locked or unlocked so that they swivel. It has a roomy basket underneath, breaks to lock the rear wheels when the stroller is parked, and two buttons will make the whole stroller fold down to fit in the car.
I am super excited to start using this system! In only one month-ish we will have a cute little baby sleeping in there! I can't wait <3

Anniversary

January 5th we celebrated our 4th anniversary!! How time has passed!!! :)

We had a wonderful time, my husband is just the best! :)
He took me out to a sushi restaurant who served us delicious sushi. The place was set up with authentic Japanese style little rooms. The table was on the floor, with a hole under the table with leg room. The waitress was super sweet. And since it was our 4th anniversary, and the last one before baby, the restaurant decided to give us a dessert on the house!!
We got served a delicious plate of Deep Fried Banana Cheesecake. One of the best desserts I have ever had!
After dinner and dessert we went and watched the new movie "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol". It was a good movie. We enjoyed it a lot.
We had a very romantic and nice anniversary night!

The New Year 2012

First I'll tell you about the end of last year, 2011.
We had the pleasure of having my sister visit us for the holidays. We had a great time. After being apart for more than 3 years it was nice to finally get to spend some time together!
Random events:

I tested and succeeded in the making of a new recipe;
Norwegian Cauliflower Soup poured over cauliflowers and baked in the oven for a little while with cheese on top. We also had bacon on top! It was absolutely delicious.

Me and my sister did a little sightseeing, we found this awesome water fall that was half way frozen over.

We had some good times watching my belly grow even more. And the new Auntie to be loved feeling the baby move around :)

Merry Christmas :)

We went in to the new year pretty peacefully. We went outside to watch some of the fireworks and celebrated with a glass of Champagne for the two non-pregnant, and nummy non-alcoholic Apple Cider for the pregnant one :)
We were also invited over a friends house, so we stopped by them before going to bed. We had a great time!

Now we are looking forward to lots of new experiences in the new year. The first is of course the arrival of our daughter in just a few short weeks. Due date is February 9th.
